The Braves are coming off a sweep in the blazing hot St. Louis heat, a great start to their current road trip. However, things are not going to get any easier this week.
The Braves are about to start a series in the Bronx against the Yankees. This could be a legitimate World Series preview, as each team is arguably the best in their respective league. The Yankees are a dangerous team and will be the ultimate test for Atlanta. The Bronx Bombers are a terrifying 31-12 at home this season and have a high-flying offense. The Braves have a good road record this season at 25-17 but have had a knack for having not so stellar extended road trips in recent memory. This will be a measuring stick for a Braves team that is playing with confidence after getting back Ronald Acuna Jr.
Things do not get any easier after that, as the Braves play the Brewers on the road next. Milwaukee has been going neck and neck with Atlanta for the best record in the National League. This series could put in perspective who is the real team to be reckoned with.
Atlanta has seemingly played to their opponent’s level of talent this season. They beat up on the good teams but have trouble with the bad teams such as Baltimore or Cincinnati. It will be interesting to see if they will follow this trend. This week will be a grind for a young Braves team as they have not had a week-long stretch to this extent as of today. A big week could show the baseball world that they indeed are World Series contenders.
