Which Falcons Should You Draft for Fantasy Football?

(Draft rankings per ESPN)

Fantasy Football is right around the corner, so which Falcons are worth drafting come August/September? Let’s take a look:

Julio Jones, 17

Julio Jones will once again be one of the best fantasy options at receiver this season. He can do it all, and has put up elite numbers even when hurt. If you go with Julio this season, you won’t regret it. It’s really that simple.

Matt Ryan, 84

Want a good draft strategy? Draft positional players early, and take Matt Ryan in the 9th round. That’s not a typo. Matty Ice has a new offensive coordinator, and if his offensive line holds up he can be a top 5 fantasy QB. He puts up great numbers every season. Ryan is one of the best value picks for 2015.

Tevin Coleman, 54

Any time you can grab a running back who will get touches, they’re worth a roster spot. Tevin Coleman has the potential to get a full workload in his rookie season, though this is no guarantee. If this is the case, Coleman could be a great FLEX option in the 6th round, but there’s still risk involved. The offensive line has to hold up and Devonta Freeman may vulture his touches. If you take a chance on Coleman, you probably want to grab Freeman as well.

Jacob Tamme, NR

Jacob Tamme is not even ranked on ESPN’s top 300 fantasy players. This is surprising as Tamme has a reputation as a pass catching Tight End who is now working with one of the league’s best in Matt Ryan. We all remember how Tony G was a top fantasy option in his days with the Falcons. Look, Jacob Tamme is far from the future Hall-of-Famer, but he could turn out to be a nice security blanket for Matty Ice. If so, Tamme has the potential to be a top 10 Tight End this season.
