Nick Masset has officially been released by the Atlanta Braves. Masset was signed by the Braves after being released by the Marlins earlier this season. The big right-handed pitcher had success in his 8 appearances with the Fish, as he maintained a 1.86 ERA. But since being signed by the Braves on May 19th, Masset has been nothing but a disaster. He is 2-2 with a gaudy 6.46 ERA since joining the Braves.

Masset has 8 years of major league experience, but has never been anything stellar. He was signed at a time in which the Braves were desperate for bullpen help. The Braves hoped his eight appearances with the Marlins were a sign for good things to come, but the results never panned out. The move comes as the bullpen has actually improved with the additions of Frasor and Vizcaino, as Masset started to get less and less appearances. Maybe Masset can work out elsewhere, but his short stint with the Braves was not successful.
