There’s no position in football that is more valuable than quarterback. It’s the single most impactful player on the field at any given time, which is why they account for more value against the spread than any other position. However, there are a few exceptions among non-quarterbacks that make an impact on oddsmakers, and Bijan Robinson is already one of them.
Ben Fawkes of ForTheWin did a piece on non-quarterback value against the spread, and it’s no surprise that Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, and Justin Jefferson were in a tier of their own. What’s somewhat surprising is Bijan Robinson is already among the top 25 most impactful non-quarterbacks against the spread.
The below chart is from Ben Fawkes of ForTheWin:
Vegas is already accounting for half of a point for Bijan Robinson, who has only played four games in the NFL. He’s the only rookie among the top 25. That’s how special this young man is.
Robinson has totaled 452 yards from scrimmage, which accounts for nearly 36% of the Falcons’ total yards. Not only does he lead the offense in rushing, but he also leads the team in receptions. Robinson is the engine of this offense.
The Falcons haven’t had much going on that side of the ball, but the rookie 8th overall pick has come as advertised. He’s probably over-delivered to this point. Every drive he’s on the field, Bijan Robinson does something that makes you say wow. I guess it really isn’t a surprise he’s already one of the most impactful players in the league.
