Braves Claim RHP Danny Burawa Off Of Waivers

Atlanta has claimed 26 year old Danny Burawa from New York. The 6’2 righty debuted on June 21st for the Bronx Bombers, and did not play well. He gave up 4 runs while only recording 2 outs. That is a VERY small sample size, and the Yankees pulled the trigger on him very quickly. He has a career 3.51 ERA in the minors over 276.2 IP. He’s also notched 14 saves. I am a little shocked New York has that short of a leash on a guy like this. He lives out his dream, has a bad outing, and all of his work is for nothing. I’m glad Atlanta is giving him a shot because hey, why not?

Burawa was highly regarded by the Yankees organization, even though he was selected in the 12th round. New York has a surplus of Right Handed relievers, so his services were no longer needed. It is not known if he will be assigned to Gwinnett or Atlanta.

Look out for Burawa on our Top Prospect List for the month of September.
