Although nothing has been confirmed by the organization, there were rumblings late last night that Braves’ top prospect, Cristian Pache, has received the promotion to AAA Gwinnett.

Across all prospect lists, Pache is the unanimous #1 in Atlanta’s system and is a borderline top-ten prospect in baseball at the tender age of 20.

He’s spent the entire season in AA Mississippi, slashing .278/.340/.474 with 28 doubles, 11 home runs, and eight triples in 104 games. However, his hit tool isn’t even his best attribute. Most scouts believe he has the defensive ability to be an Andruw Jones-type centerfielder in the majors.

While Pache to Gwinnett is the only move being leaked at the moment, there could be a slew of other promotions coming. Ian Anderson, the Braves #2 overall prospect, and fellow outfielder Drew Waters, who is hitting .319 with 35 doubles in Mississippi, are two other candidates that should be climbing up the system any day now.

Of those three, it is possible one of them reaches Atlanta when the rosters expand.  I would say Anderson is the most likely, given the Braves’ rotation issues, but Pache could warrant a look, especially if any other outfielder suffers an injury.

Update: Drew Waters, Ian Anderson, and Tucker Davidson will all be joining Pache in Gwinnett.
