Asdrubal Cabrera has been an underrated commodity for the Mets ever since they signed him back in 2015. At the time, the Braves had interest in him as well. Now, it appears they have rekindled this interest:
Asdrubal market: dbacks, brew crew, philly, bravos. he’s had a terrific year under difficult circumstance

Cabrera would be a rental, and reports are saying the Mets will trade him soon. As the AL East has shown us this year, teams will not shy away from making inter-division trades as long as they are happy with the return.
Sporting an .817 OPS on the season, Cabrera has been one of the few things that have gone right for the Mets this season. His cost should not be too high, it will be the fit that will come into question. Cabrera did play some third base last season but has primarily manned the middle infield positions in the past. However, the Braves may not have to make a move here, as the infield has been just okay, and the team reportedly is happy with Johan Camargo. It is worth noting that Dansby Swanson has only hit .212 against lefties this season, but Camargo has hit .286 against them. This could be the start of a platoon situation in Atlanta if a move like such is made.
There is no denying that Cabrera would be an upgrade at any position on the left side of the infield and he could be had at a great value. Stay tuned.
