Braves still interested in Sonny Gray

Sonny Gray has been linked to the Braves since the very beginning of the offseason. And per Jon Heyman, Atlanta is still mulling over the possibility months later.

The Yankees appear to be shopping Gray to the highest bidder. In his first full season in pinstripes, Gray put together one of the worst seasons of his career, going 11-9 with a 4.90 ERA.

For teams considering Gray, they are hoping he can return to his All-Star days back in Oakland when it was nearly a mortal lock that he would finish the year with an ERA at or below three. There’s a chance that can happen as he leaves the little league park that is Yankee stadium. Coming to a National League team with a notorious reputation for aiding pitchers like the Braves would also help significantly.

Our very own Harrison Coburn wrote back in November that the Braves should stay away from Sonny Gray, citing he would be a one-year rental and not much better, if at all, than some of the young talent the Braves already have.

Stay tuned for more updates.
