The Falcons 2023 schedule, along with the rest of the NFL, will be released Thursday night, but as always, there are leaks. And we just got our first glimpse of Atlanta’s schedule. The Falcons will travel across the pond to Wembley Stadium in London to play the Jaguars in Week 4.

There are several interesting aspects of this contest.

It will be the third time that the Falcons have traveled to London, with the last game coming in 2021 against the Jets, which the good guys won 27-20. It was also Kyle Pitts‘ only receiving touchdown during his rookie campaign. Hopefully, he will have similar success.

Moreover, this will be an away game for the Falcons, so Atlanta will have 8 home games and 8 traditional away games. During the 2021 international matchup, the Falcons were the home team, so they’re rewarded this time around.

Another storyline of this meeting will be Calvin Ridley. The Falcons’ former first-round pick didn’t appear during the 2022 season due to a year-long suspension for gambling on games. Now, he’ll return to the field with a new team and quarterback, primed to have a huge bounce back campaign. Unfortunately, I imagine he’ll be motivated to impress against his former team.

The Jaguars are a playoff team and are favorites to take the AFC South; it’ll be a great early season litmus test for a Falcons team that looks much different than it did a year ago.

We’ll update you as new information is released, as well as an expansive breakdown of the full schedule release tomorrow evening.
