Per TMZsports, the Falcons’ 2017 first-round selection, Takkarist McKinley, has turned himself into the police for ‘mental evaluation’.

The report states that McKinley’s friend was the one that became worried about McKinley’s behavior, calling the police for help.

“We’re told cops spoke with McKinley who agreed it was in his best interest to get help — and he cooperated and left with police. We’re told McKinley was NOT arrested or booked for any crime.”

McKinley busted on the scene his rookie year recording six sacks and adding two more during the Falcons playoff run. He had seven sacks in fifteen games this past season. The Falcons have hopes McKinley can be a high-level pass rusher in the near future.

Sadly, this isn’t about his performance on the field. Hopefully, Takk gets the help he needs, so something like this never has to happen again.

Stay tuned for more updates.
