Trae Young will be a busy man this All-Star Break, as it was announced today that he will take part in yet another exhibition:

As long as Young wanted to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge — which he has made abundantly clear — he was going to receive an invite; he is an All-Star starter after all. But for Young, seeing the list of participants gave him “mixed emotions.”

“Obviously I’m blessed and excited to be able to go and compete again and be a Rising Star on Friday night,” said Young. “A little frustrated that we didn’t get another, at least one other guy on the team in the game. I think with what [Kevin Huerter] has been doing all year, what [De’Andre Hunter] has been doing, what [Cam Reddish] has been doing as of late, our team is full of rising stars. For us to not get at least two in is frustrating for me”.

As far as what Young is looking forward to most All-Star weekend, he responded, “learning something new”.

“I think last year after I left the All-Star break I just took my game and took the things that I learned and just took it to another level, and just played at a higher level in the second half of last season. I want to do the same this year and try to even ramp it up a notch”.

I would love to see what another notch is for Young. The 21-year-old just came off a 39 point, 18 assist performance against the Sixers. He has at least 13 assists in his last five contests. The Rising Stars Challenge, one would figure, will be another show from the Atlanta point guard.

In addition to the All-Star Game and the Rising Stars Challenge, Young is also reported to be participating in the Three-Point Contest.

Months after feeling disrespected by some in the basketball community, Young will have another opportunity to show the world that he is one of the most talented players in the game. Perhaps other great players in the league will catch on to the memo that Trae Young is the guy you want dishing you the rock.
