WATCH: Kyle Pitts top tight ends of all time list includes one notable omission

Everyone’s got their own ‘favorites’ when it comes to players. Depending on the generation, GOATs can vary. For Kyle Pitts, the greatest tight ends of all time had one notable commission — Tony Gonzalez. Travis Kelce, Shannon Sharpe, Ozzie Newsome, and George Kittle were the Falcons phenom’s top four.

You could make an argument for Sharpe and Newsome to be among the greatest tight ends of all time, and even though I don’t like including current players, Travis Kelce will eventually be included in these conversations. However, including Georgia Kittle and not Tony G, Antonio Gates, Rob Gronkowski, Mike Ditka, Dave Kasper, or Kellen Winslow is blasphemous.

Many consider the former Falcons and Chiefs tight end to be the greatest of all time at the position. He was elected to 14 Pro Bowls, which is the second-most ever, behind only Tom Brady. Gonzalez holds the records for the most career receiving yards by a tight end (15,127) and the most career receptions by a tight end (1,325). He is second behind Gates on the all-time touchdown leaderboard (111).

This is a completely subjective question, but Kyle Pitts not even mentioning his Falcons predecessor is a little surprising and probably just a genuine mistake. If I had to give my four greatest, it would include Tony G, Antonio Gates, Gronk, and Shannon Sharpe — all for very personal reasons.
