What can the Braves expect out of Dylan Lee?

With the Braves holding a big lead last night, I thought we would get out first look at Dylan Lee. As I pointed out on Twitter, it’s strange to see that he hasn’t gotten a chance yet — his numbers would indicate he has been pretty damn good:

However, box score stats can be deceiving. What does his makeup look like? I’ve included a few clips, then I’ll talk about his pitch mix and habits.

As you can see, Lee has a pretty compact delivery, possessing a pretty standard four-seam fastball, curveball, and changeup pitch mix. This is the scouting report Baseball America provided before he was drafted in 2016:

Lee transferred from JC of the Sequoias, where he was a juco ace, before spending the last two seasons at Fresno State. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder made just five starts in two years and was the team’s top reliever as a senior with six saves. He has a good fastball that reaches 93 mph but lacks a putaway secondary pitch.

So far, at least in the minors, he has shown that he belongs. Hopefully, that can carry over to Atlanta because Lee could prove to be a huge weapon.
