This won’t be music to the ears of Braves fans, but Shane Greene will not be in Atlanta for at least a few weeks. He won’t begin pitching for Gwinnett until next week at the earliest, and Brian Snitker told the media today that Greene will appear at least 5-6 times for the Stripers before he is called up.
Snitker said Shane Greene could begin pitching for Gwinnett next week. Expect him to make at least 5-6 appearances before being deemed ready to join Atlanta's bullpen.

This was always expected, but with how porous the Braves bullpen has been so far this season, I thought the Braves might attempt to expedite the process. Unfortunately, they will not, so don’t expect to see Greene in a Braves uniform for at least three weeks. Hopefully, he looks crisp and it doesn’t take much longer than that.
