Braves Joc Pederson played HS football with Davante Adams, and you might be surprised who was better

Braves

The offseason has been rather dull since the lockout began, leaving baseball fans thirsty for any news that comes to surface. Unfortunately, we don’t have anything breaking for you today, but we did discover something quite remarkable regarding a fan favorite in Atlanta.

Before becoming a playoff hero for multiple organizations, the man with the pearls, Joc Pederson, starred on the football field in high school with another professional athlete — Davante Adams. Now today, Adams is the best receiver on the planet, but ironically, during Pederson’s senior year, Adams played second fiddle. The highlights are incredible.

I’m sure Pederson will tell you he wishes he was still that nimble today. Following his senior year of high school, he was drafted in the 11th round by the Dodgers, and the rest is history.

Pederson was an integral part of the Braves World Series run, but it seems unlikely he returns to Atlanta. He wants to be an everyday player, and that just isn’t going to be possible with the Braves. Still, he will go down as a hero for the energy he brought not only to the clubhouse, but to the entire city as well. Wherever he heads in free agency, he’ll always have millions of fans in Braves Country.
