Braves: Ronald Acuña has the last word for Trevor Bauer

The Braves sent the Reds packing on Thursday, winning 5-0 behind Ian Anderson’s strong performance. Ronald Acuña broke the tie in the fifth with a double that brought in Austin Riley — one of his three hits on the day — and Marcell Ozuna and Adam Duvall delivered the final blows with home runs in the ninth inning.

However, winning wasn’t enough for the Braves’ biggest star. Hours after the game, Acuña had a message for Trevor Bauer via Twitter.

Bauer pitched a gem in Game 1 of the series, tossing 7.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out 12, and he had some fun while doing, including a Connor McGregor strut off the mound.

The Braves didn’t make it clear during or after the game, but it’s obvious now that they took notice of all of Bauer’s antics.

Acuña’s retaliation probably isn’t the best way to lure Bauer, who will be an unrestricted free agent, to Atlanta this offseason, but I don’t think that’s something the Braves’ players are worrying about too much now. Bauer pitched great and was his typical cocky self, and Acuña reminded him where he will be watching the rest of the postseason. If you ask me, I love every bit of it… from both sides.
