3.5-point favorites are generally games you want to stay away from in the betting market. The final score, more often than not, falls on the number in that situation, especially in the NFL. However, I LOVE this matchup with the Eagles in Week 1.
The Falcons get to face Jalen Hurts, who I do not think is any good, in his first game in a totally new system. It’s also a home contest, and Atlanta has the offensive weapons to make mincemeat out of a weak Eagles defense on paper. The only thing that I’m concerned about is that this is also the first game for Matt Ryan and company under Arthur Smith. Most of the time, it takes a few weeks to get the wheels turning, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this game is closer than expected. The Falcons should win, but I would like this bet more if the line moved to 3.
