This morning, the Falcons announced the signing of former Richmond quarterback, Kyle Lauletta.

Lauletta was a fourth-round pick in 2018 by the Giants, but his memories in New York are not fond ones. He was arrested for eluding the police just months after he was drafted, and when he finally did appear for the Giants in relief of Eli Manning, he threw five incompletions and an interception.

New York waived him the following season, and the Eagles picked him up. He didn’t make an appearance for Philadelphia, though, and was waived on August 19th. Given his struggles early in his career and that he will be brand new to the Falcons offense, there is no chance he takes the backup QB job away from Matt Schaub. However, this can’t be good news for Kurt Benkert, who is in his third year with the team.
