Falcons vs. Jaguars Injury Report: Is it time to worry about Cordarrelle Patterson?

NFL: AUG 05 Atlanta Falcons Training Camp

The Falcons have been relatively healthy this season. Though Troy Andersen was just placed on the injured reserve, the member of the team that hasn’t made his 2023 debut is Cordarrelle Patterson.

The veteran has been dealing with a thigh injury, dating back to the offseason. As Atlanta travels across the pond to take on Jacksonville, Patterson’s status isn’t clear. The Jaguars are also nursing a few injuries.

Is it time to start worrying about Cordarrelle Patterson?

He’s on the wrong side of 30 and has taken more hits in the past two seasons than the prior eight years combined. Patterson is no spring chicken, but this is beginning to concern me.

Obviously, the team didn’t expect him to be out the first four games or they would’ve placed him on the injured reserve. Ideally, this is just a lingering issue, and if the playoffs started tomorrow, Patterson would suit up.

It’s a long season. It might be the right decision to take things cautiously with him, but these are all speculations. Hopefully, there is nothing to this designation, and Cordarrelle Patterson makes his 2023 debut in London to help the Falcons upset the Jaguars.
