Former Falcons Assistant General Manager Scott Pioli, who is now a regular on the NFL Network, was on Good Morning Football today and was asked about Kyle Pitts’ potential fit with Atlanta. Here’s what he had to say.

You can add Pioli to the long list of evaluators who are salivating over Pitts’ potential in the NFL. He talks about the former Florida tight ends’ versatility and how whoever drafts him will be able to line him up all over the field, creating mismatches. That would be especially true in Atlanta, given how many weapons Arthur Smith already has at his disposal. The new Falcons head coach has to be giddy at even the possibility of having an offense that features Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Hayden Hurst, Russell Gage, and more.

As the draft approaches, it does look as if Terry Fontenot will likely go in one of two directions — draft the quarterback of the future or select the best position player available, which seems to be Kyle Pitts. There’s still the potential for a trade down, and I imagine Fontenot will leave no stone unturned, but I’m still not sure Fontenot will receive enough value to pass up on a generational talent like Pitts.
