A few hours ago, the Hawks announced their theme nights for the first half of the 2021 season. They will begin their first of four ‘Unity Night’ games on Monday, January 18th (Martin Luther King Day) against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Of course, this year’s theme nights will feature special MLK jerseys, as the team attempts to bring the entire community of Atlanta closer together.

In a statement from Melissa Proctor, who is the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena Chief Marketing Officer, “We find it so important for our organization to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through each of our Unity Nights this season,” she said. “This past year has been different for all of us, and we hope our work continues to inspire all of our fans to making a positive change.”

The other three Unity Nights in the first half of the season will take place on:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 26 vs. Los Angeles Clippers Presented by Emory Healthcare
  • Saturday, Feb. 6 vs. Toronto Raptors
  • Wednesday, Feb. 24 vs. Boston Celtics during HBCU Night Presented by Chase

The Hawks will also host their annual Lunar New Year game on February 12th against the San Antonio Spurs.
