The fallout between Antonio Brown and the Steelers has been well-documented by now. Steelers owner, Art Rooney, has even gone so far as to say it is ‘hard to envision’ Antonio Brown on the team by the time training camp begins. Naturally, that has NFL fans in a frenzy, especially those that don’t have a number one receiver already on their roster.
Atlanta has a star receiver. In fact, they have THE star receiver in Julio Jones. They also have an elite possession receiver in Mohammed Sanu and a star in the making named Calvin Ridley. Beyond that, the Falcons won’t have much wide receiver depth but is that really enough to make them the odds on favorite to land Antonio Brown.
According to the online betting site MyBookie, The Falcons are +400 to land Brown, the highest of any team, including the Steelers at +700.

Julio Jones was recently stopped by TMZ and asked if the Falcons would be interested in trading for Antonio Brown. His response. “We are good over here.”

Having a one, two combination of Julio Jones and Antonio Brown might be the scariest thing secondaries have seen in NFL history. They are arguably the two best receivers in the league and compliment each other rather well.
I also should not have to tell you how ridiculous this sounds. The Falcons didn’t need Antonio Brown to become one of the best offenses in NFL history in 2016. What Atlanta had was a versatile group of weapons – a lot like what they have now – and a top offensive line.
Last year, their offensive line was one of the worst in the league. There is a real possibility Atlanta is looking at replacing three starters. Not to mention, the Falcons finished 28th in total defense last year, have no pass rush to speak of, and Antonio Brown is your prototypical prima donna. If Atlanta is going to make a significant splash like this, it needs to be addressing their needs, not a position where they already might be the best in football. Like Julio said, “We’re good here.”
