The past few days revealed that the Braves had become the favorites to land Marcell Ozuna. However, as Atlanta fans, we reserve the right to be reluctant, especially since it was recently reported that the Dodgers, and their deep pockets, were the latest team interested in Ozuna. But after a painfully long offseason, Braves fans finally got their wish. According to multiple sources, Atlanta is finalizing a four-year contract with Marcell Ozuna.
Outfielder Marcell Ozuna and the Atlanta Braves are finalizing a four-year, $65 million deal, sources familiar with the agreement tell ESPN. There is a fifth-year option that would take it to $80 million.

It goes without saying; this is an unbelievable land for the Braves. I’ll be the first to admit that I was starting to get a little worried. If the Braves didn’t sign Ozuna, it looked like they might be out of luck. Now, they will have him on the team for at least the next four years, and at the very reasonable price of $65 million with a fifth-year option.
It’s time to take a sigh of relief, Braves fans. The wait is finally over, and if you want to hear even better news, I don’t think Anthopoulos is done. Their should be several other signings coming over the next week or so. Stay tuned.
