Ronald Acuña Jr. is back, and he looks better than ever

Ronald Acuña is back in the lineup, and he’s looking like he’s in midseason form. You’d be forgiven for forgetting his ACL tear while watching his display of power this weekend. In each of the first two games against Milwaukee, Acuña has hit a monster home run. These clips say it all:

Hitting these two homers is huge for the Braves. It’s abundantly clear that Ronald is back in full force, bolstering the lineup significantly. While the Braves will (and should) continue to be slightly cautious with the young superstar, he’s penciled in at DH in the series finale. This means he will have played every game this series, and with an off day Monday, Acuña will likely play against Boston in the two game set.

Through only 8 games, Ronald has slayed the opposition. His 2 homers and 3 steals put him on pace for 40 taters and a stunning 60 steals over 162 games. Acuña has also been extremely unlucky– his single off the wall and a .219 BABIP say it all. I look forward to seeing plenty more highlights of the superstar this season, and Ronald could easily be the spark Atlanta needs.
