Ronald Acuna Jr. is raking in the Venezuelan Winter League

MLB: JUN 30 Marlins at Braves

Ronald Acuna Jr. did something very unique last week. While waiting to hear if he would be named the MVP of the National League, Acuna was preparing for a game in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Acuna ended up winning the award by a unanimous decision. All 30 voters gave him the nod over Mookie Betts, and then Acuna decided to go out and blast balls into the bleachers on the other side of the world.

Through three games, Acuna has seven hits in the Venezuelan Winter League, including two homers. He’s hitting .500, with a .586 on-base percentage, and a 1.517 OPS.

The guy is a machine. It doesn’t matter where the game is taking place, who is in front of him, or how many people are in the crowd. He just loves to play baseball and does it at a level that few have ever done before. It’s refreshing to have a player like Ronald Acuna Jr. represent the city of Atlanta.
