SportsTalkATL’s Week 5 College Football Gambling Locks

Chase Irle’s Locks

With the SEC back in action, so am I. After back-to-back 3-1 weeks, I’ve bounced back from my dreadful 0-6 start, and I’m feeling pretty good about the board this week.

Florida (-6.5) at Texas A&M

I’m a little worried about the Gators defense, but their offense has been one of the best in the country. However, this pick is less about Florida and more about Texas A&M. The Aggies have been an overrated and overvalued team ever since Jimbo Fisher arrived at College Station. Simply put — this is not a good football team. The Gators should roll by two touchdowns in this game.

Georgia (-12.5) vs. Tennessee

That Georgia defense looked insane last week, and while this has the potential to be a trap game with Tennessee placed right after Auburn and before Alabama on Georgia’s schedule, defense usually shows up every week. I like what Jeremy Pruitt has done, but the Dawgs should win this one by two touchdowns.

Alabama at Ole Miss (Over 70)

Alabama should put 50+ on this Ole Miss defense that has allowed over 40 points in each of their first two games. The question is whether you can count on the Rebels for 20+, and the answer is yes. The Crimson Tide defense is nowhere near where they used to be years ago under Saban. It is a vulnerable group, and Lane Kiffin will be using the entire playbook against his old boss.

Notre Dame (-20.5) vs. Florida State

Catch me fading Florida State most weeks. This line feels way too low. Perhaps it’s a trap, but I’ll take the Fighting Irish against a Seminole team that has looked lifeless early this season.

Jake Gordon’s Locks

Georgia (-6.5, 1H) v Tennessee

Georgia looked awfully impressive against Auburn, and while Tennessee has had a nice 8 game win streak, they haven’t played Florida, Alabama, or Georgia in that period. They get brought back to earth on Saturday.

Clemson v Miami (o 29.5, First Half)

Clemson has been good to me; I’m gonna keep riding them. Miami is still a question mark, but they should find the endzone once or twice.

Notre Dame (-20.5) v Florida State

I’m with Chase here. Florida State stinks. I’ve been burned by the Irish this year, but this is an old school rivalry that may get ugly.

Arkansas at Auburn (u24, First Half)

I took this bet with UGA last week, and UGA ruined it on their own. Auburn only mustered 3 points, and Georgia dominated to bust the bet. Have we considered that Arkansas might just actually be good this year?
