The Braves bring back an old friend on a Minor League deal

The Braves agreed to terms with three minor league free agents today, including a familiar face:

Chase already did a writeup on Seth Elledge, you can check that out here.

Brian Klein spent 2021 with the Nationals rookie squad, and he slashed a respectable .275/.415/.471/.886. Klein is a former Texas Tech standout, and will provide solid depth at the low levels of the minors.

Preston Tucker is a fun addition to the club, even if he only serves as AAA depth. Tucker was solid for the Braves in 2018, posting a .714 OPS over 80 games and coming up with a couple of clutch pinch hits. He actually had two separate stints with the Braves in 2018, but that was his last year in the majors. Tucker then went to play in Korea and absolutely mashed in 2020 — putting up 32 home runs and a .955 OPS. There’s no guarantee he will make the roster, but he’s a fun guy to have around and I’m happy he’s back.
