The Braves shuffle their rotation and designate a promising piece for assignment

The Braves have demoted Jared Shuster after a rocky first start, creating a lot of questions.

We all expected Dodd to come up at some point, and the Braves seem to have Bryce Elder slated to pitch for Max Fried while he recovers. Shuster has to remain in the minors for 15 days, per MLB rules. However, that rule goes out the window if Max Fried goes on the Injured List, which is expected. Shuster will likely be back in Atlanta later in the week to make his scheduled start against the Padres on Friday.

I was surprised the Braves cut ties with Luplow already, but they may be able to keep him if he can pass through waivers. He was recovering from injury, but he has some upside as a power hitter. Eli White is playing really well in Gwinnett, and looking at the rest of the position players, it makes sense that Luplow would be the odd man out. He may have also asked for a DFA to get an opportunity elsewhere.
