Critical piece of Falcons offense back on injury report

The Falcons have the potential to be fully healthy for their Week 3 clash against the Lions as they aim to move to 3-0.

Jeff Okudah, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Troy Andersen missed Week 2 but were all back on the practice field Wednesday, a promising sign for their status come Sunday. However, on Thursday, Patterson did not practice because of the same lingering thigh injury that has kept him out for well over a month.

The Falcons have been cautious with their players early this season, which is a wise decision. The ultimate goal is for everybody to be healthy and playing their best football at the end of the year, not right now.

Okudah looks to be trending in the right direction, and I’m sure he would love to get his first taste of action this season against his former team. Andersen also looks like a likely candidate to return against the Lions.

On the other had, I’m a little less hopeful for Patterson. He’s an important piece of the offense, but given his veteran status, the Falcons aren’t going to rush things. It also doesn’t hurt that Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier are more than capable of handling the load out of the backfield.
