According to Lou Williams — per his Instagram — he was considering retirement yesterday after he was traded.

It’s easy to forget sometimes that these players are human beings. They pour their heart and souls into their work just like you and me, and while the money may be much better, appreciation has no price. Williams has spent the last four seasons in Los Angeles, taking home multiple Sixth Man of the Year awards.

Thankfully, Williams isn’t retiring (that would be quite a bummer), as he is set to return home for his second stint as a member of the Hawks. He previously spent two seasons in Atlanta from 2012-2014 before being traded to Toronto for essentially nothing. Of course, Williams would make the Hawks regret that as he took home the first of his three Sixth Man of the Year awards the very next season.
