WATCH: Two fans attack Ronald Acuña Jr. in the middle of the game

MLB: JUL 01 Marlins at Braves

The Braves are in the middle of clobbering the Rockies tonight, but the story won’t be about the game, as two fans ran out to make contact with Ronald Acuña Jr. in the middle of the game.

For so many reasons, this is completely unacceptable. It goes without saying that fans shouldn’t be running out on the field in the middle of a game. Both of those men will be headed to jail tonight. However, that might not even be the worst part.

What in the hell was the Rockies security team doing? How did those guys get that close to Acuna before anybody was even on the screen. They were clearly ill-prepared for the moment, and frankly, MLB should probably step in and force the Rockies to do something about it, because this situation could have turned out much worse, especially if the fans had bad intentions.

Thankfully, the ordeal didn’t seem to faze Acuna. He went on to rack up two more hits and a stolen base after this happened, including this bases clearing double.

Acuna would finish the night with four hits, a homer, two steals, four runs, and 5 RBIs. He was also walked once. If Mookie Betts is going to steal the NL MVP away from the Braves superstar, he better keep up the current blazing hot streak that he’s been on for the last two months.
